It all started when…

Nurse practitioner Holly Maloney observed, while working in other facilities, that many patients had extensive wait times for exams that were needed to either fulfill work, school or sports participation requirements. She founded Simply Physicals in an attempt to manage the patient appointment flow in a more organized fashion to accommodate the patient’s schedule. Also noted was the limited time the providers could spend with the patients due to the demanding schedule. The reason Holly became a nurse practitioner was to care for the health of her patients. This is why time is invested with each patient at Simply Physicals to address each patient’s heath history, current health and plan for improvement of future health status.

Holly has a Master’s degree in Community/Public Health Nursing from the University of North Carolina - Charlotte, Post-Graduate degrees as a Nurse Educator from UNCC and Nurse Practitioner from the University of South Carolina. She holds certifications as both Family Nurse Practitioner, allowing her to provide care for all age groups, and as a Medical Examiner by the FMCSA. She has extensive experience providing DOT physicals and health physicals for school, sports and pre-employment.

Holly is a certified Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. Her training was completed through the International Association of Forensic Nurses and through Duquesne University. Simply Physicals is able to offer sexual assault exams to male and female victims aged 16 years and older who have experienced assault within the past 120 hours (5 days). Exceptions to those who can be seen include anyone experiencing shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chest pain, uncontrolled bleeding, obvious acute bony deformities or those who are pregnant. All of these exceptions need to either call 911 and/or be seen at the Emergency Department for further evaluation and care.
